Qualifier Todd Widom upset No. 8 seed and fellow American Robby Ginepri 4-6, 7-6(2), 6-4. The 270th-ranked Widom secured his place in the main draw by winning his three qualifying matches over the weekend, and was playing in his first ATP World Tour match since January 2006 at Delray Beach (d. Moodie, l. to Garcia-Lopez).
